Pollock and Caluori Aim for England Starting Spots

England's young stars Henry Pollock and Noah Caluori are targeting starting roles following a 73-8 victory over Fiji. Pollock, 21, claimed a hat-trick after entering as a replacement at Hill Dickinson Stadium, while 19-year-old Caluori scored on his debut after setting up a try for Henry Slade.

Pollock, who has started only once in 12 Test appearances, expressed his desire to earn the starting shirt. He noted that head coach Steve Borthwick encouraged him to be himself, and he hopes his performance demonstrated his readiness for a starting role.

Despite England's "crazy good" depth in the back row—including Ollie Chessum, Tom Curry, Guy Pepper, and Ben Earl—Pollock's strong form with Northampton and six international tries have sparked calls for a start. Similarly, Saracens' Caluori, who finished joint top of the Prem try-scoring standings, faces substantial competition to secure a long-term spot.
