Nina Sparks, diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021, has transformed her life through snowboarding, becoming Great Britain's first female Paralympic snowboarder. Adopted at ten months, Sparks took up skiing at five and switched to snowboarding at thirteen, finding it 'the closest thing to flying'. The sport was initially a hobby until the pandemic forced her to move to the Austrian mountains, where she discovered her MS symptoms.

Despite the diagnosis, she pursued Para-snowboarding, inspired by Kadeena Cox. Now a four-time World Cup and two-time World Championship medallist in LL2 events, Sparks uses an orthotic and competes in Milan-Cortina. She faces daily fatigue, needing naps and prioritizing quality over quantity in training.

Her debut in the women's LL2 banked slalom on 14 March is a milestone, highlighting the scarcity of women with disabilities in the sport.
