Leeds Rhinos climbed to second in the Women's Super League with a 28-12 victory at St Helens, leapfrogging their opponents in the process. Connie Boyd opened the scoring in the 12th minute, powering over on the left edge. Three minutes before halftime, Mel Howard shifted the ball to Ebony Stead for the second try, and Stead found Ruby Enright for a third before Howard converted to give the Rhinos a 16-point lead at the break.

Howard scored either side of halftime, dotting down next to the posts after a pass from Frankie Blakey before converting her own try. Saints finally got on the board through Dani Mc Gifford in the left corner, with Faye Gaskin adding the extras. Katie Mottershead powered over from close range to halt the comeback, but Ebony Stead's second try sealed the result.

The loss marks St Helens' first league defeat of the season, while Leeds move within reach of the top spot. Boyd's brace and Howard's dual role as scorer and converter proved decisive. The result reshapes the WSL playoff picture with crucial matches ahead.
