Charlotte Hornets rookie Kon Knueppel has rewritten the NBA record books, becoming the fastest player to reach 200 three-pointers in just 58 games. The 20-year-old American star achieved the milestone during Charlotte's dominant 131-99 victory over the Chicago Bulls, where he scored 21 points including three three-pointers.

Knueppel's achievement surpasses previous records and places him second among rookies to reach 200 three-pointers. With 201 three-pointers already this season, he needs only six more to break Keegan Murray's rookie record of 206 set in 2022-23. The Duke Blue Devils product was selected fourth overall in the 2025 NBA draft by the Hornets.

Head coach Charles Lee praised Knueppel's impact beyond statistics, noting his humility and team-first attitude. Meanwhile, the Eastern Conference saw other notable results, with James Harden scoring 20 points in his Cleveland Cavaliers debut, a 109-94 win over the New York Knicks that moved them level with the Knicks in the standings.
