Joshua‑Fury Fight Sticks to UK Despite US Speculation

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are locked into a UK venue for their heavyweight showdown, says Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn. Any move to the United States would require new contract terms from Joshua’s camp. Hearn warned that without such agreement the fight will still go ahead in Britain this year in 2026 for the fans.

Hearn’s comments come amid chatter that Saudi financier Turki Alalshikh might host the bout in Las Vegas. He said no formal request has reached him and that any American venue would need to renegotiate the deal. He praised the UK’s history for the fight but noted the high costs involved for promoters and the fighters.

Hearn also dismissed Dana White’s claim to promote the event, saying Zuffa Boxing has no role unless Joshua’s side agrees to a new contract. He added that a fight could only be cancelled if Joshua loses to Kristian Prenga or if Fury falls in his interim bout on 1 August for legacy and fans’ hopes today.

With Fury and Joshua both 36 and 37, the fight remains a marquee clash for British boxing. Hearn predicts the bout will occur in 2026 unless a pre‑fight loss derails plans. Meanwhile, Alalshikh and Warren plan a meeting next week to set the final date and location for fans and sponsors worldwide to earn profit.
