Jordan Hermann struck 150 to equal the record for the highest score in a one-day international debut as South Africa beat Namibia by 99 runs (DLS method) in Windhoek. The opener's 126-ball innings saw him draw level with compatriot Matthew Breetzke, who scored 150 from 148 deliveries against New Zealand in February 2025. Hermann put on a 167-ball second-wicket partnership of 190 with Tony de Zorzi (72), hitting 17 fours and three sixes.

The 24-year-old reached his first fifty off 61 balls but his next two half-centuries came off 32 deliveries apiece. Having reached 150 with a single, he was dismissed from the following delivery, caught at deep-midwicket by Louren Steenkamp off Ruben Trumpelmann (4-68). South Africa finished on 348-6 after being put into bat.

Namibia's chase was reduced to 31 overs due to rain, with a revised target of 262. They closed on 162-8, with Malan Kruger top-scoring with 34. Prenelan Subrayen took 4-29 for South Africa.

The win gives South Africa a 1-0 lead in the three-match series, with further fixtures in Windhoek on Friday and Sunday.
