Jon Rahm fired a final-round 67 to clinch a two-shot victory over Tyrrell Hatton at the Abu Dhabi Championship, finishing at 21 under par. It marks the Spaniard's first win on the DP World Tour in four years and his first since leaving LIV Golf. Rahm, playing his first tournament since the birth of his fourth child, produced six birdies and just one bogey on Sunday.
"It means a lot. It's been quite a while to play well in the DP World Tour," Rahm told Sky Sports. After finishing last at the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in his previous start, he joked that going "last to first" was especially pleasing.
Rory McIlroy finished third at 19 under, moving into second place in the Race To Dubai standings behind leader Eugenio Chacarra as he chases a record-equalling eighth season-long title. Rahm's victory also keeps him in contention for the season finale in Dubai next week.
