Reigning Commonwealth heptathlon champion Katarina Johnson-Thompson leads the 63-strong England athletics squad heading to Glasgow next month. The 23 July to 2 August Games will see her chase a third consecutive title after victories in 2018 and 2022.

Olympic 800m champion Keely Hodgkinson misses the squad despite being eligible, having withdrawn from June's UK Championships 400m final with an injury concern. She confirmed focus on the European Championships in Birmingham instead.

Johnson-Thompson competes alongside Jade O'Dowda and Ellen Barber in the heptathlon. The sprint squad features Amy Hunt, Daryll Neita and Imani-Lara Lansiquot, with Dina Asher-Smith joining the 4x100m relay team alongside Zharnel Hughes, who targets an upgrade on his 200m silver.

Debutants include high jumper Kimani Jack, whose 2.31m this season leads the world outdoors. Ben Pattison and Scott Lincoln look to convert their Birmingham 2022 bronzes into gold. The squad joins 20 Para-athletes already selected for the multi-sport event.
