Chelsea Women are unbeaten in all competitions under Sonia Bompastor, showing strong signs of recovery after last season's disappointments. The Blues, who lost the WSL and FA Cup titles last year and exited the Champions League in the quarter-finals, have started the new campaign impressively. They sit top of the Women's Super League alongside Manchester City after seven games and have won two and drawn one of their opening three Champions League matches.
A 2-0 victory over Roma, with goals from Ellie Carpenter and Kadeisha Buchanan, highlighted their growing confidence and defensive solidity. Bompastor praised the team's performances, noting they haven't conceded in three European games and are adapting well to the demands of multiple competitions. The squad has shown tactical flexibility, using both back three and back four systems, while players like Lauren James, Keira Walsh, and Lexi Potter are forming key partnerships.
Despite the loss of key players such as Sam Kerr and Millie Bright, Chelsea appear to have rebuilt effectively and are once again title contenders.
