Hearn Demands UFC Release Aspinall

Eddie Hearn has publicly called on UFC president Dana White to release heavyweight fighter Tom Aspinall from his contract. The Manchester-based fighter, who signed a commercial deal with Hearn's agency in March, has emerged as one of the UFC's biggest stars despite eye problems that have sidelined him since October. Aspinall has won seven of his eight UFC bouts in the first round.

Hearn claims Aspinall is severely underpaid and is prepared to offer him significantly higher earnings. The promoter even suggested he would drop legal action over Conor Benn's departure if the UFC released Aspinall, who would reportedly make three to six times more than his current contract under Hearn's deal. Hearn described Benn's departure as a "dagger in the heart" but is willing to abandon that legal battle for Aspinall's freedom.

The ongoing feud between Hearn and White intensified with Zuffa Boxing's launch. Aspinall became part of the dispute when Hearn accused White of "humiliating" him during the eye poke controversy. The fighter remains under contract with the UFC with no indication the promotion will consider releasing their standout heavyweight anytime soon. Hearn has been critical of the UFC's pay structure for top fighters.
