Donald will captain Europe for a third consecutive Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in 2027, aiming to become the first captain to win three in a row after victories in 2023 at Rome and 2025 at Bethpage Black. He has appointed Padraig Harrington as vice-captain.

Harrington brings extensive experience, having played in six Ryder Cups and earned 10½ points for Europe. The Irishman was part of the winning team at the K Club in 2006, the last time Ireland hosted the event. Donald praised Harrington's connection with Irish crowds and his previous vice-captaincy roles.

Harrington, a 44-tournament winner and three-time major champion, expressed enthusiasm about the home event. Since turning 50 in 2021, he has excelled on the Champions Tour, winning a record-equalling three US Senior Open titles. Both anticipate a spectacular atmosphere with the whole of Ireland behind the team.
