George North will end his professional rugby career by playing for the Barbarians against Wales at Twickenham. The former Wales wing, who earned 108 caps and scored 27 tries for his country, makes his final appearance in the invitational side after they face South Africa this Saturday. North described feeling privileged about his career and said playing against his country with former teammates makes the occasion special.

This follows a similar farewell pattern from 2023, when Alun Wyn Jones and Justin Tipuric played for Barbarians against Wales at Principality Stadium after the World Cup. North highlighted the opportunity to join some of the best players in the world while experiencing the famous Barbarians spirit. He said he couldn't turn down the chance to link up with the squad next week.

The Twickenham fixture serves as preparation for Wales' Nations Championship Tests against Fiji, Argentina and South Africa in July. It's a double-header with the men's game at 14:00 BST followed by the women's match at 17:00 BST. This represents a fitting send-off for one of Welsh rugby's most recognizable figures after more than a decade at the top level.

North's 108 Wales caps and 27 tries demonstrate his impact on the international stage. The 31-year-old brings down the curtain on a career that included spells with Scarlets, Northampton, and Ospreys, plus multiple Six Nations campaigns.
