British skiing legend Dave Ryding will compete at his fifth and final Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, joining a 20-strong Team GB snowsport squad. The alpine star, who announced his retirement this season, is a veteran presence alongside exciting debutants like 16-year-old snowboarding world champion Mia Brookes. The team also features established names like Charlotte Bankes and Zoe Atkin.

This selection carries significant weight for Team GB's medal ambitions. The nation's best Winter haul is five medals, achieved in 2014 and 2018, but they managed only two in Beijing 2022. UK Sport now projects a potential 4-8 medal return, a goal buoyed by the depth of talent across disciplines like freestyle skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country.

Ryding, 39, expressed his pride at representing Great Britain for a fifth time, a dream he held since his 2010 debut. The squad's blend of experience and youth, including returning Olympian Gus Kenworthy and second-time athlete Kirsty Muir, reflects the growth of British snowsports. All eyes will now turn to the Games, which run from February 6th to 22nd.
