British number one Jack Draper continued his Indian Wells title defence with a convincing win over Argentina's Francisco Cerundolo, setting up a last-16 clash with world number three Novak Djokovic. Draper, returning after an eight-month absence due to an arm injury, beat Cerundolo 6-1 7-5 in a performance he described as a step towards regaining form, though he stressed it's still early days in his recovery. Draper's victory follows fellow Briton Cameron Norrie's stunning fourth-round upset of Australian sixth seed Alex de Minaur, who was eliminated 6-4 6-4.

Norrie, the 27th seed, played above his ranking to secure his spot. Both wins came a day after Emma Raducanu suffered a heavy defeat to Amanda Anisimova. Draper, 24, will face 38-year-old Djokovic for the first time since their 2021 Wimbledon encounter where Draper took the first set.

Djokovic, meanwhile, overcame Aleksandar Kovacevic 6-4 1-6 6-4 to advance. Draper acknowledged the challenge, stating he's been watching Djokovic since childhood and considers him the greatest of all time, warning the match will be mentally tough and full of 'crazy tennis'.
