Northern Ireland's Dan Harper clinched a stunning Daytona 24 Hours victory with his #1 BMW crew after starting at the back of the grid. The car was disqualified from qualifying for a tyre infringement, forcing a dramatic comeback. The team, run by Paul Miller Racing, methodically worked through the field during the race.

The event was halted for six-and-a-half hours due to heavy fog in Florida, turning the race into a six-hour sprint to the finish. Harper's crew delivered a perfect final pit stop, allowing him to take a lead he held to the checkered flag. The winning margin over the #75 Mercedes was a razor-thin 2.223 seconds.

This marks the biggest win of Harper's career and a remarkable achievement in one of motorsport's premier endurance events. The race also saw Northern Irish rival Charlie Eastwood retire late with a mechanical issue. The victory sets a high bar for the GTD Pro class for the rest of the season.
