Catalans Dragons secured a 36-22 victory over York Knights in Super League, scoring six tries in a much-needed bounce-back performance. New head coach John Cartwright watched from the stands as his team responded emphatically from last week's humiliating 58-10 defeat at Wakefield.

York coach Mark Applegarth acknowledged his side lacked composure in the final third despite controlling much of the first half. "We're in a vicious circle at the moment where, until we learn those lessons, it's all on us," Applegarth told Sky Sports. The Knights conceded two quick tries after halftime, a pattern he vowed to address.

Interim coach Ryan Sheridan praised his team's response: "We look at what we've got coming up and it is really exciting." With Cartwright now officially appointed, Sheridan expressed hope the new boss would restore confidence. The Dragons moved off the bottom of the table with this win.
