Welsh cyclist Anna Morris secured Commonwealth Games gold in the 4,000m individual pursuit in Glasgow. She triumphed over England's Josie Knight, a Great Britain teammate with whom she also won Olympic bronze in the team pursuit in 2024. Morris defended her title in the individual pursuit, having previously beaten Knight in the world final.

Knight had set the fastest qualifying time of 4:25.719, with Morris closely behind at 4:25.817. However, Morris delivered a strong performance in the final, clocking 4:24.272 to claim the gold medal. This marked the first time the event was contested over 4,000m at the Commonwealth Games, previously being a 3,000m race.

Later, Morris competed in the scratch race, finishing second behind Australian winner Georgia Baker. Despite her strong showing, she was relegated from the podium for entering the sprinter's lane while her New Zealand opponent was present. Morris, a qualified doctor, also rode with Welsh teammates Megan Barker and Carys Lloyd in the scratch event.
