On Sunday, Aaron Rai walked off the 18th green of the U.S. PGA Championship with a three‑shot lead, capturing his first major after an eagle on the ninth and a flawless final ten holes. The field, crowded with legends like Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele, was within four strokes of the top spot before Rai surged ahead today.

Rai credits his wife, who waited beside the 18th, for grounding him amid the sudden spotlight. He declined an agent, preferring to stay tight‑knit with British coaching firm Me and My Golf. The win injected $3.7m into his earnings, while his family celebrated the sacrifice that paved his path to the title for the championship and its recognition and respect.

Despite the surge, Rai remains level‑headed, saying he will think carefully before buying gifts for relatives. He also noted the Wanamaker Trophy is delayed due to minor damage. The victory cements his move into the world's top 15 and sets him up as a serious contender for the remainder of the PGA Tour season through the year and beyond with.
