Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has downplayed a video that appeared to show him arguing with teammates Curtis Jones and Kostas Tsimikas over the captain's armband after a pre-season match against Wrexham.

Szoboszlai explained that the incident, which occurred after he passed the armband to Tsimikas instead of Jones when substituted, was merely a discussion. "It was never a debate between us three," he stated. "Nobody was angry at no-one. It's all cleared - we are cool." He added that such discussions would be handled privately in the future.

With Virgil van Dijk absent and Joe Gomez injured, Szoboszlai captained the team during their US tour. He also mentioned that no decision has been made regarding the vice-captaincy, a role that is open following Andy Robertson's departure. Szoboszlai expressed readiness for the new season, aiming to improve on last term's performance. He also praised young player Trey Nyoni and emphasized a fresh start for all players under new manager Andoni Iraola.
