St Mirren are actively searching for a new manager to 'galvanise' the club's Scottish Premiership and Scottish Cup campaigns, according to chief executive Keith Lasley. The Paisley side face Celtic in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden Park on 19 April, a significant match following their League Cup final victory over the Hoops in December. Lasley stated the club is considering both internal candidates who applied and external figures they approached, praising interim manager Craig McLeish's team for stepping up effectively during this period. 'We need somebody who can come in and really galvanise and really push us forward in that short-term,' Lasley emphasized, highlighting the immediate need to secure points in the league to escape the bottom end of the table alongside the upcoming semi-final challenge. 'We want to make sure it's the right person to push us forward in the long-term.'
