St Mirren have confirmed Craig McLeish will remain as head coach after securing Scottish Premiership status through the play-offs. The 36-year-old stepped in temporarily following Stephen Robinson's departure to Aberdeen in March.

McLeish won three of his nine league matches but couldn't prevent the Buddies finishing second bottom. They prevailed 2-1 against Partick Thistle in the play-off final, with Marcus Fraser scoring the decisive goal in the second leg.

McLeish has now agreed to a three-year contract, with Stuart Taylor expected to join as his assistant. Robinson had guided the club to their first silverware in 12 years with League Cup victory before leaving them 10th in the table.
