Seamus Coleman will end his Everton career at the close of the season, walking away after 17 years with the club when his contract expires. The 35-year-old right-back has been limited by injuries this season, making just three Premier League appearances and lasting only 10 minutes in his sole start due to injury in November.

If Coleman plays against Sunderland this weekend, he'll reach 434 appearances for Everton across all competitions, placing him ninth in the club's all-time list, ahead of Dixie Dean and Leon Osman. He's captained the side 140 times and earned his UEFA B License, having briefly served as interim manager alongside Leighton Baines after Sean Dyche's sacking in early 2025.

Coleman expressed gratitude to fans and teammates in a heartfelt statement, saying he's "taken their love of the football club back into the dressing room." After 17 years at Goodison Park, the Merseyside defender's contract runs out at season's end with no expectation of renewal.
