Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds says his children get "frustrated" when fans stop him to talk about Wrexham AFC, the football club he co-owns with Rob McElhenney. The Deadpool actor joked that while Deadpool questions get brief responses, Wrexham discussions turn into lengthy conversations that annoy his three daughters and son.

Reynolds and McElhenney purchased the world's third-oldest professional football club in February 2021 for what they called "movie star money." Since their takeover, Wrexham's value has skyrocketed to £350 million, with the club earning three consecutive promotions to reach the Championship. Despite five years of ownership, Reynolds admits they still don't fully understand the sport.

The pair were inspired to buy Wrexham after watching a Sunderland FC documentary, drawn to the community's resemblance to their own backgrounds. Their journey became the Disney+ docuseries "Welcome to Wrexham," which earned 10 Emmys. Manager Phil Parkinson now leads the team's push for their first-ever Premier League promotion, with Reynolds describing himself as "inconsolable" when Wrexham loses.
