Marcus Rashford responded publicly after Jamie Carragher appeared to shut down Gary Neville's attempts to discuss him on the Stick to Football podcast.

During the episode, Carragher grew visibly frustrated when Neville asked for his thoughts on Rashford, saying: "Can we do a podcast without mentioning Rashford?" Carragher continued: "Stop it. Oh my God. It's like the Trent [Alexander-Arnold] and Rashford… like a little part of the podcast. The Trent part or the Rashford part."

Rashford took to social media platform X to reply to the clip, writing: "Thanks, Jamie. It would be great to be able to get my head down and play football without my name being mentioned every day."

The 28-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Barcelona winning La Liga, is expected to remain at Manchester United. His last competitive appearance for the club came under former manager Ruben Amorim in December 2024. He could feature in United's upcoming Premier League opener against Hull.

Following United's 4-2 friendly defeat by AC Milan, defender Harry Maguire expressed hope that Rashford would stay at Old Trafford, calling him a "big asset" and a "huge threat."
