Rangers boss McInnes hints at new signing within 48 hours

Rangers manager Derek McInnes is hopeful of announcing a new signing within the next 48 hours, potentially before their season opener against Dundee United on Friday. He expressed a desire to strengthen in one or two areas of the pitch, particularly seeking "difference makers" who can provide more creativity to serve the strikers.

McInnes noted a lack of chances created in their final pre-season friendly, a goalless draw against West Ham United. He feels the team is also a bit short in numbers defensively, with a busy schedule of four games in 12 days ahead. The club has already signed three defensive midfielders as a precaution against potential interest in Nico Raskin, who may be a "flight risk" this summer.

While Raskin will not be involved in the opening part of the season, McInnes acknowledged that the Belgian could be subject to interest. He also hinted at potential outgoings, stating there has been "a wee bit of interest in one or two" players without naming names. The club aims for two permanent signings, though one might be a loan.
