Premier League Ticket Prices Hit £74 Average

Fans of the Premier League's six wealthiest clubs are paying an average of £74 per ticket for each match, according to new Uefa data. The report shows Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham earned 19% more from ticket sales in 2025 compared to the previous year. Arsenal leads with £89 per ticket, while Liverpool saw the biggest increase at 27% to £120m total revenue.

Clubs justify price rises citing increased operational costs and financial regulations compliance. However, the Football Supporters' Association argues these figures are unfair to fans. The FSA launched a 'Stop Exploiting Loyalty' campaign in 2024 after a series of price increases, with some clubs removing concessionary discounts entirely. Stadium redevelopments at Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham have also increased hospitality ticket availability.

Despite record revenues of £6.5bn across Premier League clubs - nearly double Germany's Bundesliga - only five clubs turned a profit in 2025. The division recorded a combined pre-tax loss of £559m, with Chelsea's £355m loss ranking as the second-highest in European football history. Critics argue English football has a spending problem rather than an income problem, as rising costs primarily stem from player wages and transfer fees rather than operational expenses.
