McInnes fury as Celtic win controversial penalty

Hearts head coach Derek McInnes labelled the 99th-minute penalty that handed Celtic a crucial Scottish Premiership victory as "disgusting", with his side now facing a final-day title showdown. The controversial decision in stoppage time has sparked fury at Tynecastle.

The incident involved Hearts player Nicholson, whose arm was at shoulder height during a duel with Celtic's Auston Trusty. VAR Andrew Dallas identified the ball touching Nicholson's arm at head height, leading to the match-winning penalty. Referee John Beaton reviewed the footage for just 20 seconds before making his decision.

Questions remain about whether the ball actually struck Nicholson's arm at all. The ball appeared to come off his head and bounce out for a throw-in, with many arguing the arm contact had no material effect on the ball's trajectory. The controversial intervention has suddenly tilted the title race into Celtic's favour ahead of Saturday's final-day decider.
