Man Utd's Toone Ruled Out of League Cup Final

Manchester United's Ella Toone is set to miss the Women's League Cup final against Chelsea on 15 March due to a hip injury, manager Marc Skinner has confirmed. The England international has not played for United in 2026 after sustaining the injury during the December quarter-final win over Tottenham.

Skinner initially gave Toone a six-week recovery timeline, raising slim hopes she might return for the final. However, those hopes have now faded, with Skinner suggesting she may return around the Manchester City match on 29 March. Toone's absence compounds United's injury woes as they prepare for the final and their Women's Super League campaign.

United currently sit second in the WSL, 11 points behind leaders Manchester City, and face London City Lionesses this weekend. The club is also without winger Fridolina Rolfo, who missed the Champions League win over Atletico Madrid, and defender Anna Sandberg, who suffered a calf injury. Leah Galton remains sidelined with a back injury, leaving United short-handed as they pursue silverware.
