Lampard Future at Coventry Amid Chelsea Links

Coventry chairman Doug King addressed rumors linking head coach Frank Lampard to a return to Chelsea, insisting the Championship-winning manager is content at the Sky Blues. Lampard secured promotion to the Premier League after 25 years with a 5-1 title win over Portsmouth, but faces speculation following Chelsea's sacking of Liam Rosenior.

King acknowledged Lampard's stock has risen dramatically after guiding Coventry to the title without parachute payments, calling it "a huge achievement nobody can take away from him." While admitting a "staggering bid" might come Lampard's way, King emphasized he's "in a happy place" at Coventry and emotionally connected to the city.

The chairman revealed Coventry have been planning for Premier League challenges since October, rejecting the notion of simply "throwing money" at the problem. With a bus parade scheduled for May 4th and preparations for the top flight underway, King stressed they'll maintain competitive focus against Wrexham this weekend, adding: "It would be disrespectful to the rest of the league if we took our foot off the gas."
