Hibernian head coach David Gray is relishing a "very special" Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Heart of Midlothian, while counterpart Wouter Vrancken remains cool.

Vrancken, who won the Belgian Cup with Mechelen in 2019, has already beaten Hibs 3-1 at Easter Road this month. But he stressed Tuesday's league match with Falkirk is his priority. "It is nice for the fans that it's an Edinburgh derby," he said. "Either way, we want to win a semi-final."

He dismissed suggestions that Celtic's exit makes the trophy more open. "Every team can win depending on the performance on the day," he stressed. Both sides reached the last four with 3-0 wins, over Stenhousemuir and Ross County respectively.

Gray called it "a brilliant game to look forward to" and said the Edinburgh derby "adds a little bit more spice." It will be the first such meeting at Hampden since 2022, and the first League Cup semi-final for both since 2023.
