Goalkeeper Milo Beimers, 18, has left Glentoran's youth system in Northern Ireland to embark on a 2,000-mile van journey across Europe with his dad Kevin in search of a new club. After completing his A-levels, the pair drove from Belfast to Dublin, ferried to France, and continued down the Spanish coast toward Portugal, with trials arranged across the top five tiers in both countries.

The converted van, owned by his sister Charlie, serves as home and transport, eliminating accommodation costs for interested clubs. Beimers holds a Dutch passport through his grandfather and represented Canada at the Under-17 World Cup in 2025, easing European registration. He has already trained with Spanish third-division side Hércules and has a London trial pending.

Beimers embraces the uncertainty: "It's good to be free and just be less scheduled." While acknowledging the risk, he aims to play at the highest level possible, joking that one game against Barcelona or Real Madrid would suffice before retirement. "I'm going to keep playing football until I hate it," he says.
