Former Falkirk FC chairman Gary Deans has been placed on the sex offenders register after admitting to possessing obscene videos involving a dog and child sexual abuse material. The 62-year-old resigned from his position at the Scottish football club in December 2021, citing personal reasons.

Stirling Sheriff Court heard that the offences occurred between February and August 2022. Police raided Deans' home in February 2023, seizing multiple electronic devices. Forensic examination revealed 15 images and 15 videos of extreme pornography, along with 18 still images and six videos featuring child sexual exploitation, some involving children aged between four and ten.

Prosecutor Ronnie Hay told the court that the extreme material depicted sexual activity between a male and a dog, similar to Deans' own pet. Deans claimed he received the images in a chat room and deleted them, later admitting to viewing child abuse material after online sexual communication with an unknown female. Sheriff Elizabeth McFarlane deferred sentencing until April 22 for reports.
