England can secure their place at the 2027 Women's World Cup with a win or draw against Spain on Friday. Sarina Wiegman's Lionesses lead Group A3 with four wins from four matches and a three-point advantage. A victory would make them the first home nation to qualify directly, leaving Spain to fight for a play-off spot.

Across Europe, qualification scenarios play out differently. The Republic of Ireland can reach their second World Cup by winning both remaining matches against the Netherlands and France. Scotland and Wales have secured play-off spots, while Northern Ireland needs just one point from their final games to join them in the autumn play-offs.

The 2027 tournament in Brazil will run from June 24 to July 25 across eight stadiums used in the 2014 men's World Cup. Eight teams have already booked their place: Brazil as hosts, Australia, China, Japan, North Korea, South Korea, the Philippines, and New Zealand through Asian qualifying. Denmark and Germany are close to joining them.
