Police urge England fans in the UK to emulate the positive behaviour of supporters in the United States after a spate of incidents over the weekend. Former England manager Roberts praised the conduct of fans in the US and called for the same standard at home when England face Argentina in the World Cup semi‑final at Atlanta Stadium on Wednesday (20:00). He noted that most incidents in the UK have been alcohol‑related, tied to extended licensing hours and the influx of fans to big‑screen venues. Roberts said the domestic tournament has seen the worst number of incidents and arrests yet. "If we can have 40,000 fans together in Miami with no trouble, then why can’t fans follow that exemplary behaviour back home?" he added. He urged fans to enjoy the game and atmosphere, but to do so responsibly.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Police Department has enhanced its city‑wide public safety and security posture before England’s match against Argentina. Additional personnel and resources are deployed strategically in venues, entertainment districts and other high‑traffic areas to protect the public, deter crime and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
