Dunfermline Athletic footballer Graham Carey has shared his heartbreak after the death of his partner Rachel Borthwick at age 36. The mother of two, diagnosed with incurable breast cancer in 2021, passed away on Sunday surrounded by family. Rachel first discovered a lump in September 2021 and documented her cancer journey on Instagram. Her battle included treatment in Germany and India after tumors spread to her lungs, bones, and possibly her brain. The couple's two young children now face life without their mother. A GoFundMe campaign raised over £150,000 to support alternative treatments and alleviate financial pressure during Rachel's four-and-a-half year battle with triple-negative breast cancer. Dunfermline Athletic expressed their condolences through an official Facebook post, joining friends and supporters in mourning Rachel's passing. Carey's teammates and the football community have rallied around the Irish forward during this devastating time.
