Crystal Palace have identified Brest centre-back Raphael le Guen as a potential transfer target. The 19-year-old defender has emerged on the Eagles' radar as a move for Maxence Lacroix to Chelsea appears increasingly likely.

Le Guen made his senior debut for Brest during the 2025-26 season, featuring in six Ligue 1 matches. He notably started the final four games of the campaign, including fixtures against Paris St-Germain and Strasbourg. Palace have a recent history of success with young French centre-backs, having signed Jaydee Canvot from Toulouse last season. Canvot has since become a key figure in the defence after the departure of Marc Guehi.

In addition to Le Guen, Palace are also reportedly interested in Augsburg defender Chrislain Matsima as another possible replacement for Lacroix. The 24-year-old former France youth international is reportedly open to joining Palace, where he would reunite with compatriot and newly appointed head coach Pierre Sage.
