The latest Football Daily episode on BBC Sounds sees Conor Mc Namara rejoin Ian Dennis and John Murray for the Commentators' View ahead of a big weekend in the Premier League. The highlight is Manchester City's trip to Liverpool, their first visit since the Premier League charges verdict. John explains how he approaches commentating on the game.
The team also reflects on the international break and revisits Ian's Greek adventures. Ian recalls being pranked at Istanbul airport in a moment that the panel describes as genuinely terrifying. The episode runs 49 minutes and was broadcast on Radio 5 Live on 9 October 2026.
Elsewhere in the show, the panel returns to Clash of the Commentators, where the question is whether John can go clear at the top of the table. There is also a look at the Unintend Pub Name of the Week and the Great Glossary of Football.
Listeners can catch the weekend's fixtures on 5 Live and Sports Extra, including Chelsea v Bournemouth, Man Utd v Tottenham and Liverpool v Man City on Sunday at 16:30.
