Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen will commence his rehabilitation in his home country following a collapse during a recent friendly match against Ukraine in Odense. The 34-year-old was able to leave the field unassisted after the incident.

This marks the latest health challenge for Eriksen, who has a history of cardiac issues. He previously suffered a cardiac arrest during a Euro 2020 match in 2021 and was subsequently fitted with an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD). Eriksen has stated that the ICD performed as intended during the recent incident.

His club, German side Wolfsburg, confirmed that Eriksen will undergo an "individual rehabilitation programme" in Denmark. Club officials are maintaining contact with Eriksen and his medical team. The specifics of his return to professional football remain undetermined.
