Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Manchester United striker Melvine Malard for approximately £850,000. The 26-year-old France international is expected to undergo a medical before finalizing her transfer to Stamford Bridge, where she will reunite with manager Sonia Bompastor.

Malard is poised to be Chelsea's third summer signing, following Katie McCabe and Manaka Matsukubo. Her arrival strengthens Bompastor's attacking lineup, especially after the departure of Sam Kerr to Gotham FC. Manchester United had attempted to retain Malard with a new contract offer, but she expressed her desire to leave.

The club opted to accept Chelsea's bid to avoid losing her for free next summer. Last season, Malard was United's most productive attacker with 19 goal involvements across all competitions. She previously played under Bompastor at Lyon, from whom United acquired her in 2023.
