Police and stewards formed a barricade to separate Celtic and Rangers fans after a pitch invasion turned violent following their Scottish Cup quarter-final at Ibrox Stadium. The disorder erupted as Rangers supporters joined Celtic fans who had already spilled onto the field, with flares thrown and smoke visible over the stadium.

This marked the first time Celtic supporters received the full Broomloan Stand allocation since 2018, when the capacity was reduced to fewer than 1,000. The Old Firm rivalry has seen away allocations fluctuate between 750 and zero in recent years as clubs engaged in tit-for-tat moves over fan behavior. Green smoke billowed from the Celtic end as fans wearing black clothing and face coverings ran across the pitch.

The Scottish Football Association condemned the behavior and announced an immediate investigation through its judicial panel protocol. Both clubs declined to comment officially. Celtic manager Martin O'Neill acknowledged the scenes while celebrating his team's victory, saying he would address the incidents later. Rangers head coach Danny Rohl admitted he was already in the tunnel when the trouble began.
