Celtic have agreed personal terms with Paderborn midfielder Mika Baur, 22, with talks ongoing for a £4m transfer. The Scottish champions are also closing in on a deal to sell Japan forward Daizen Maeda, 28, to Ipswich Town for an initial £8m potentially rising to £10m with add-ons. Meanwhile, Celtic face Premier League interest in Canada right-back Alistair Johnston, 27, from Everton and Fulham, and have enquired about Scottish left-back James Penrice, 27, at AEK Athens.

Rangers appear to have unofficially confirmed the signing of Partizan captain Vanja Dragojević, 20, with a £4.7m fee agreed — £2.1m paid upfront across three installments and a 10% sell-on clause. Social media posts show the midfielder with a Rangers-themed cake and shirt. The Ibrox club are also monitoring Troyes centre-half Sankhoun Diawara, 20, though AC Milan have lodged a late bid, and Brighton have rejected a £5m offer for winger Amario Cozier-Duberry, 21, amid interest from Rangers and others.

Elsewhere, Cardiff City, Sheffield United and Watford are keen on Rangers defender John Souttar, 29, while Aberdeen goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov, 29, explores options away from Pittodrie. St Mirren striker Mikael Mandron will join Stevenage after a move to Oxford United collapsed.
