Calum Scanlon has returned to Cardiff City from Liverpool after a pre‑season stint with the Reds. He had previously been on loan at Millwall and said, "I'm ready to go, it's been a positive pre‑season getting minutes. It was good for me. My body is ready for the season."

The defender will battle for starts with Joel Bagan. He has represented England at various age levels and is Cardiff's third senior signing of the summer, following Nathan Trott's permanent move from Copenhagen and Jack Moylan's arrival from Lincoln City.

Cardiff's focus remains on building depth for the upcoming campaign, with Scanlon expected to provide competition in the back line and add experience to the squad.
