Newly promoted Women's Super League club Crystal Palace has secured the signature of striker Bethany England on a two‑year contract with a one‑year option. The former Tottenham captain, 32, left her old club after her contract expired this summer and is set to wear the number nine shirt. England brings a wealth of experience, having won four WSL titles and two Women’s FA Cups while at Chelsea, and playing a pivotal role in Tottenham’s climb up the league. She was also part of the Lionesses squad that lifted Euro 2022 and finished as runners‑up Rome 2023.

“It feels great to sign for Crystal Palace. I’m very excited to be here, and I’m looking forward to meeting all the girls and getting started,” England told BBC Sport. “Palace are an ambitious club… we’re really pushing to be among the best, and they’ve got amazing facilities. I hope to make a lot of good memories, score goals, and make history for the club.”

England has netted 87 WSL goals in her career and left Tottenham as the club’s all‑time top scorer with 32 league goals. Jo Potter welcomed the arrival, saying she will be “crucial for us next season.” The club earned promotion last season after finishing runners‑up in the second tier, having been relegated in 2025.
