The BBC will show Scotland's first World Cup match since 1998 when they face Haiti on June 14, plus their group finale against Brazil. England's knockout matches and their June 23 clash with Ghana will also air on BBC, while ITV covers the Croatia and Panama group games. Both networks will broadcast the final.

BBC Sport director Alex Kay-Jelski emphasized their coverage will include England knockout games on BBC1 and iPlayer, alongside Scotland's crucial fixtures. ITV's Niall Sloane confirmed their commitment to free-to-air broadcasting across the summer tournament. The BBC secured three of the top four round of 16 picks and three of the top five round of 32 selections.

The 2026 World Cup marks a historic first with United States, Canada and Mexico as co-hosts. Argentina's group matches against Austria and Jordan will feature on BBC, along with two group games each from France, Brazil, Netherlands and Portugal. The tournament opens June 11 in Mexico City and concludes July 19 in New Jersey.

This broadcast split ensures comprehensive coverage across both networks, with the BBC prioritizing high-profile knockout fixtures while ITV handles additional group stage matches. Fans will have multiple viewing options throughout the extended tournament format.
