Bayern Munich target Liverpool's teenage winger Rio Ngumoha

Bayern Munich have made enquiries about signing Liverpool's 17-year-old winger Rio Ngumoha, though sources confirm no face-to-face discussions have occurred. Ngumoha, currently with England's squad in Florida, reportedly knows about German interest while Liverpool insist he remains unavailable for transfer.

Liverpool view Ngumoha as crucial to their plans in a position they're strengthening. His breakthrough came with two goals, including a late winner against Newcastle, on his Premier League debut in August. He also became the club's youngest starter at 16 years and 135 days under Arne Slot in the FA Cup.

The teenager left Chelsea's academy in September 2024 before signing his first professional contract with Liverpool. A tribunal ruled in February that Liverpool must pay at least £2.8m to Chelsea, with potential add-ons and a 20% sell-on clause.

Liverpool's pursuit of RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande could complicate Ngumoha's path to regular football next season. Despite Bayern's interest, Liverpool's stance suggests the youngster will stay unless their position changes dramatically.
