Arsenal have reached a verbal agreement with Club Brugge to sign attacker Christos Tzolis for 40 million euros (£33.9m). While a formal offer is pending, it's considered a formality, and personal terms are expected to be agreed without issue. Following Tzolis's medical, he will sign a long-term contract with the Gunners.

Arsenal accelerated their pursuit of Tzolis after Leandro Trossard's move to Besiktas. Sporting director Andrea Berta has been instrumental in the deal, with his assistant having scouted the 24-year-old player. This transfer is distinct from Arsenal's broader strategy to acquire at least one high-profile forward this summer.

Arsenal's primary forward target remains Atletico Madrid's Julian Alvarez, though Barcelona and Real Madrid also hold interest. In their search for a versatile forward, Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa is a preferred option, with efforts to sign him expected to intensify post-World Cup. Paris St-Germain's Bradley Barcola is considered an alternative if a deal for Rogers proves difficult, with Aston Villa reportedly valuing Rogers at £130m.
