Liverpool have completed the signing of Spain winger Victor Munoz from Osasuna for £34.5m, activating his release clause after outbidding Newcastle. The 22-year-old, who featured in Spain's World Cup squad and recorded seven goals with five assists last season, will pen a six-year contract at Anfield. Munoz primarily operates on the left wing and brings versatility to Liverpool's attack following Mohamed Salah's departure.

The Reds have also lodged an offer worth approximately £86m for RB Leipzig's Yan Diomande, though the Bundesliga side are demanding closer to £112m for the 19-year-old Ivorian international. Diomande impressed last term with 12 goals and eight assists in Germany, attracting interest from Paris St-Germain who are yet to submit a formal bid. Liverpool appear in the driving seat for the promising winger.

Munoz's arrival represents new manager Andoni Iraola's first acquisition, leveraging his extensive La Liga knowledge. The Spaniard previously graduated from Barcelona's La Masia academy before brief spells at Real Madrid and Osasuna. His pace and work-rate in both attack and defence convinced Liverpool to act swiftly, particularly after Newcastle identified him as Anthony Gordon's long-term replacement.

Newcastle's failure to secure Munoz echoes last summer's disappointment with Hugo Ekitike choosing Anfield instead. The Magpies now face the prospect of watching another target develop under Liverpool's guidance, while the Reds continue strengthening their attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
