Chicago Bears running back Kyle Monangai is expected to miss multiple weeks after hyperextending his right knee during Sunday practice, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. The injury forced Monangai to leave practice early. The former seventh-round pick, who rushed 169 times for 783 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie, also caught 18 passes for 164 yards.

Monangai was among the starters who didn't play in Chicago's 34-10 preseason win over the Browns. He shares a backfield with D'Andre Swift, with Salvon Ahmed and Roschon Johnson likely to see increased workloads during his absence. The Bears also added Marcus Davenport, reuniting with defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, and signed defensive back De'Antre Prince to the 90-man roster.
