Spotify has launched SongDNA, a new feature that lets Premium subscribers explore the creative connections behind their favorite tracks. Built directly into the Now Playing view, SongDNA appears as an interactive card on supported songs, offering insights into the writers, producers, and collaborators who shaped each track.

When users tap the SongDNA card, they can dive into the song's DNA by exploring samples, interpolations, and cover versions that influenced its sound. The feature also allows listeners to follow connections between artists, discovering other musicians they've worked with and mapping out how different eras and genres intersect. Spotify says this creates an interactive way to understand the collaborative nature of music creation.

The connections in SongDNA come from a combination of information provided by artists and their teams, along with community-sourced data. This new feature complements Spotify's existing 'About this Song' tool, giving listeners an even deeper understanding of their music. SongDNA will roll out globally to Premium subscribers on iOS and Android through the end of April.
