Teenage brothers Olly and Seb Fisher, part of the Partick Thistle youth setup, are on the verge of making history by representing Uganda at international level. The siblings, aged 18 and 16, discovered interest from the African nation after a conversation between their father and a football consultant in Nigeria. Following invitations to under-20 and under-17s training camps in Jinja, they spent a week training in the country's eastern region.

Olly, a goalkeeper, and Seb, a striker, were both left "shocked" and "honoured" by the call-ups. Their mother, Kate, was born in Uganda, and former Ghana midfielder Laryea Kingston, now coach of Uganda's under-20s, believes they would be the first white players to represent the nation. The brothers embraced the warm training conditions and bonded with local players, some from the same area where their mother was born.

Olly aims to feature if Uganda qualifies for the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations early next year, while Seb could join the Under-17 squad for the World Cup in Qatar in November. The pair will return to Scotland to balance university and school with Partick Thistle, but plan to rejoin their new international teammates soon.
